Lisa Maguire, Digital Marketing Executive

What do you do at Pearlfinders?

I initially started out on IT research, before moving over to the marketing team last year. Along with our Marketing Director Adam, I work closely with the rest of the commercial team, generating awareness for the business and attracting new clients. This involves everything from email marketing to social media, copywriting and content creation to data management – I’m also in the process of learning code!

Why do you like most about coming to work each day?

With the amazing content we produce every day, there’s a constant stream of new and interesting things to learn about the world of marketing. No two days are ever the same in this respect. Being a fairly close-knit company, there’s always a lot you can try your hand at and opportunities will always be available to those who are passionate about what they do and are willing to learn new things.

What have you enjoyed working on most recently?

We recently published the Pearlfinders Global Index 2017, which analyses our research globally for the year. Since this launched, we’ve been pushing out various pieces of content to our markets and for me this has involved the creation of automated email programmes, as well as the use of Photoshop and InDesign – which I’ve been lucky enough to learn in this role - to improve the look and design of our marketing.

Describe the culture at Pearlfinders – what’s different about the company?

The major benefit of Pearlfinders is that, being a smaller business, it’s easy to arrange fun events and staff incentives on a regular basis – from our own table at the World Darts Championship to free tickets for the British Summertime Festival.  There aren’t many people I’ve worked with in the last year and a half who wouldn’t agree that Pearlfinders is an incredibly sociable company to be part of. Fridays consist of beers in the office to drinks in our local pub and we’ve been known to have the odd keg or two delivered here in the past. For the sports-enthusiasts (and there are many in this office!) we also have company sports teams across Netball and Softball.
